s2 wasnt bad, its better than most shows i like, but i dont think anything really compares to s1. they rushed s2 and forgot completely about the original plot of s1. they shoved in random characters, new plotlines (wtf was mels magic thing even about? where did that come from???), and completely missed the mark on what made s1 so great- the little details and moments, which they of course couldnt fit in because of how rushed s2 was. s2 wasnt necessarily bad, but its also very hard to live up to s1's greatness

TW OPINION: I kind of hate how Jinx became a manic pixie dream girl (idk if I'm using that term correctly) but season 1 jinx felt SCARY and actually made people fear her with her actions, she felt mysterious and unpredictable. While in season 2, she felt too much like a mother to Isha and had too many "silly" lines that felt like the writers disregarded her core elements

jinx was terrifying in s1, so layered and complex and mentally unwell and manipulated. shes quite cool in s2. I love her and the show is great! but s1s writing and story is my favourite. like tragic poetry

I didn't finish S2. It looks gorgeous. But I couldn't force myself to care after it felt like it was quickly abandoning all the themes S1 set up.

s1 was lightning in a bottle. before s2 arcane was arguably the best animated show of all time for how good s1 alone was. it was literally perfect and i'm forever mad how badly s2 ruined my favorite show and characters

They transformed Jinx into a housewife; a mother, and someone with a "love that saved her." When I say I HATE season 2, people judge me, but they took an amazing character and threw away all her potential.

but the difference between s one and two is that in the first season they barely saw each other and had expectations. In season two they already know each other very well and thats why their conversation is lighter than in season one, also I think isha changed her
