@sopocottage: I thought rinsing my fruits and veggies with water was enough... until I did this. We're all trying our best to feed our families healthy foods, but what's on our food matters too. Water alone isn't removing pesticides, waxes, and other residues that can be left behind. A few months ago, I started shopping at an online Wellness Store because I was tired of reading ingredient labels and trying to figure out which brands I could trust. Now we get so many of our household essentials there - from laundry detergent and toothpaste to deodorant, snacks, cleaning products, and this veggie wash. This bottle is only about $6, lasts our family for months, is plant- based, and takes about 30 seconds to use. Simple swap. Big difference

broccoli straight from the garden. Nothing ever added to it. Even if it was washed with water it would look the same

As a Farmer, the light green broccoli from the plain water is exactly what it looks like from the field, pesticides or no pesticides! The dark green is abnormal!

If you had ever grown your own broccoli, you would know that broccoli has a natural hydrophobic film on it , without ever being sprayed with anything .

This is the definition of consumerism. You used a chemical to wash off the natural wax because you think it looks prettier 🫣

Vinegar and baking soda are better. The ingredients in the wash is not good.

Just use vinegar omg. The bright green is abnormal. Our broccoli no pesticides still has the protective layer. It’s normal!!!

Okay but even my homegrown broccoli grows looking like the original. The dark green is not its natural state. It’s got to have some kind of citrus oil in it to blanch it like that. I’m all for washing off pesticides, but I don’t think the color change is anything other than acid blanching.

Totally unnecessary! The powdery look is natural, just cut in smaller pieces, use running water to rinse it, then throw them into boiled water for 2-3min, put in ice water immediately and then dry them and store in the freezer.
