I've literally never heard Madonna be so open or vulnerable in an interview. I've always found her incredibly guarded and defensive. She's really articulate and thought provoking when she opens up. I wish she'd do so, more.

She was with Carlos Leon and at the time was pretty happy. She was working on Evita in Argentina or just finishing up and they were living together. She was also 38 at the time so most of her wild oats were sowed by that point. She was actually living somewhat a domesticated life at that point. She would go on to win the award for Evita right after having Lourdes. I think it was the Golden Globe for best actress in 1997. So she was at that point pretty happy and content with her life.

My gosh, Madonna is so underrated as a human being. Her intelligence and articulation is profound. Her ‘I don’t fit it’ resonates large. Do people take the time to understand her truth? I don’t think they do. Or should I say more there are those of us who are drawn to her for many different reasons. Ive known since I was young, she has gigantic balls to do what SHE wanted, put herself out there gigantically and hugely. I know she’s famous, I know she’s a celebrity and I don’t know her personally, but my respect for her is immense for the human being she is 🙌
