Consequences of “no child left behind” policy in the early 2000’s. As well as the shift away from phonics to “whole language” learning in the 90’s. We are only now experiencing the devastating results from these things. The over implementation of technology contributes as well.

The problem is the people that we are electing to the school board. We are not vetting to see what their policies are. They hold a lot of power.

This was the entire point of “no child left behind”… dumb it down and push kids through because an informed public is a dangerous thing to the ruling class. I literally completed HS government class in a single week it was so watered down in Florida in the early ‘00s.

This! We have zero books to check out we are no longer allowed to talk about DEI in our English class so if we try to write about it or in our public speaking class, our history teacher told us he’s not gonna teach the moorish empire because they lost the war. All of these teachers who are complying are guilty. Our dean at our college says his hands are tied and things are changing.
