It won’t sell, and they’ll say “no one wants a cheap truck!” We want a cheap truck, but 205 miles of range with 120KW fast charging is unacceptable. This can’t replace a maverick, it’s basically only useful as a toy to take around town

For 29k you can get RWD Nissan Frontier with a back seat, an entertainment system, power windows, it isn’t an experiment it’s one of the more reliable pick ups on the road, price has to be much much lower, what even is its payload they are RWD can’t even get it in 4wd

for a similar price you can get a Chevy Bolt with more range and more equipment, in addition you could get a Nissan Leaf with 100 more miles of range for about 3.5k more. with how little equipment is offered I would just be expecting a lower cost. especially when promised to be 20k. a modern price should come with modern amenities.

It's a neat idea but am I missing something? Like everyone else says why wouldn't you buy a Ford Maverick? It will be full of all the things you will not have in that stripped slate truck. The stripped version delivered to me will probably be 30 grand.

I have been a fan of the Slate concept from the beginning. But they missed the price point, which was kinda the whole attraction. I can buy a new Bolt or Maverick for not much more. I can get a much nicer used EV for that price. It just doesn't pan out.
