It gently saddens me that so many people think Griffin is the main villain of the story. Like guys, read what actually happens during the eclipse, read what they tell him was going to happen to him and what actually does, he was tricked. For some reason (presumably, because he had the red bailiff) they could employ things that they never do to anyone else when they get summoned, they're the gods of the abyss, they literally have control over nothing. griffin had no idea what's going was going on except that he would eventually return , which is why they talk to him earlier during his time in jail. femto is pretending to carplay as griffin , that's why no one knew who guts was during their first introduction to us during the blacksword. They are not smart like griffin they don't remember people, if famto didn't have that beam around him when guts swung at him, he would have been dead because he's arrogant. griffin and famto are completely diametrically opposed from each other. It is literally impossible for them to be the same person.
