I think it’s an Estée Lauder decision. I have worked freelance in Ulta for Estée and they have made a lot of changes in their company as of recently like cutting costs wherever they can. I think they want to focus more on Ulta because they have freelancers who are onboarded Estée Lauder makeup, then once they are working for them get forced into selling Bobbi and a bunch of other brands at the same time for no more money! It’s like doing 5 jobs but getting paid for 1! Therefore they make more money in ultas for less cost to the company

I feel like beauty in department stores is a thing of the past. When I think of department stores, I think of grandmas. I’ve been going around to the different department stores for Chanel fresh tint and the customer service is a step below Sephora.

100% this is an estee thing sales have been down so bad recently I have a feeling they are gonna pull too faced out of physical stores eventually every shipment we get at ccs is overflowing with too faced products I’m talking 200 of the same shade of lipstick at a time and they never sell

Let’s be real. Profits are down in department stores because in store doesn’t get the same sales, gifts, etc. It is almost impossible to work for these brands in a store environment where everything is full price vs consumers shopping online and scoring 30-40% off their purchases, free gifts, etc.

lwk i think macys is making room for kiko to come in because consumers are looking for more affordable options and kiko is at a much more approachable price point than bobbi

It’s both. Department stores are dated. I had to leave Nordstrom because the company sucks but working in the beauty department is like living back in 1995. Sitting in those manager meetings is like reminiscent of dail-up internet.

Scary times, but I think it's going to trickle down. Look up the numbers the only counters that are up are the full fragrance ones. I think this may be a sign of what's to come.

Seeing as Bobbi Brown left her own brand and is now E Com with Jones Road Beauty not all that surprised, granted I am sure they have a few classic products that people will keep on repurchase and that may keep them in business but wouldn't be surprised if it isnt what all that many are gravitating to in stores.

Too Faced and smashbox have multiple buyers lined up? There’s many articles about this online lol. I think saying a brand like too faced that has multiple top 5 skus is undesirable is foolish imo.

It’s Estee…Bobbi sold to Estee….so mama Lauder is the one is making that kind of decision. I think now with Ulta and Sephora ya don’t need a huge department store or buy online correct?
