Ok but isn’t it also true that gas prices won’t drop instantly because refiners are still selling gasoline made from crude oil they bought weeks ago at higher prices during the Iran tensions? Doesn’t it t take time to refine new cheaper oil and get it to your pump? So is t it possible there’s a two-to-three week lag. Even though crude is now around seventy dollars a barrel, would t you only see the full benefit at the gas station over the next couple of weeks? Look I want cheaper gas, absolutely! However assuming that gas prices will drop dramatically only a few days after the straight has reopened seems a bit unrealistic.

Here CA, this theory makes us feel like $4.50/gal is a deal after paying $6 for months….. When we should be around $3.99 or even $2.

They say that the retailers keep the price up because the gas that's in the ground was expensive and they have to be compensated for it. Ok, but how long does it take to sell 20 or 30,000 gallons of gas at a busy station? A week? 2 weeks? Come on, man.

And just FYI, even back in February our gas is in the panhandle of West Virginia never dropped. They all they were always over in the vicinity of 3.49, 3.69 a gallon.

Gas got up to 650 a gallon where I live and now it’s 565 but a barrel accrued was 150 and now it’s 75 that math is not working

but royalties paid out to people on oil take forever to go up when oil prices do but when oil price drops they drop them instantly so the little guy who has royalties gets shorted

Plus they’re tricking us with the E15. That gas burns fast. But the normal gas is like $1 more per gallon.
