@kamden_adhd: "It feels like being punched in the gut. Choked around the throat. Electricity shooting through your body. Shame so deep you can't think straight. If you have ADHD and you've ever wondered, 'Why am I reacting like this?'—you're not alone. Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) can feel like a freight train barreling through your nervous system, drowning out logic and leaving you desperate to make it stop. In this episode of The Busy Brained Saint, I'm sharing what this experience actually feels like—and how we can learn to navigate it with more understanding and self-compassion. 💛 🎙️ Listen wherever you get your podcasts. #ADHD #RSD #RejectionSensitiveDysphoria #TheBusyBrainedSaint #ADHDWomen

I've still got the gut dropping out like a roller coaster but I've learned to take the next step forward calmly and usually if that moment isn't followed up by cussing then I won and I can ignore the feeling. Still leads to people pleasing behaivior but I get things done and move forward long enough to tell the difference at least.

Thank you so much for sharing so openly, this video stopped me in my tracks. I’ve never heard anyone else describe their own RSD symptoms that are so similar to mine. It makes me feel less alone. I try to describe it as my brain tortures itself - over the years in therapy I’ve gotten to know Immidiately when it’s happening and I objectively know no one hates me. Like you said - knowing what’s going on doesn’t do anything to stop the reaction - burning hot at the top of my head then very cold and hard to breathe, tunnel vision and I can’t hear clearly. It’s not safe for me to drive for at least 15 minutes. Then the overwhelming paranoia and certainty that everyone is watching me and hates me, and breathtaking shame. That part lasts for hours. I have to end my day Immediately, go home, lock all my doors, close my windows, sit on the floor of the closet sobbing until the reaction has passed. Before I went to therapy and even now if I believe there is any credibility to my paranoia or shame I’ll throw up for hours. Therapy has helped. SNRI and stimulants help. Stable trusting relationships help. Nothing stops it completely. Thank you for talking about it. If more of us talked more openly maybe there is a chance at better treatments for RSD. 💚

Feels like I’m ready to fight for my life for the smallest trigger. It’s taken some time but it’s getting better
