If divinity requires being perfect *simpliciter*, then Jesus Christ could not have been fully divine, for he assumed a finite, imperfect human nature which made his perfection relative, not absolute. Thus, the only possible alternative to preserve Christianity is to affirm that perfection secundum quid is sufficient for maximal greatness, which is a highly contested and fragile assumption.

You toss out “historically authentic” as though there is a scholarly consensus. But in fact there is significant debate and disagreement, particularly regarding whether Jesus saw himself as the Son of Man of Daniel.
