Airport Lounges is a god awful perk. Everyone has this perk which means that lounges feel like a high school cafeteria that don’t have enough seats nor food for the whole school

the avios cards are pretty much useless, so so restrictive in what you can use the points for. if you're booking flights 12months in advance you may get lucky. forget about peak season, they just don't let you use them. the companion voucher is a waste, again almost impossible to use. the free upgrade seems nice, but again super restricted to the point of being pointless. in the 15yrs I've used avios I've paid for 1 flight and upgraded class once. I spend 20k a year on the credit card easily.

How would you compare the blue Amex reward card against gold? Other than the lounge access, I didn’t find that I would get much more with Amex gold except a fee. Maybe I’m missing something?
