I think there are a lot of people who hate Mother Teresa more than I do, sometimes for reasons that I think are unfair or not very fact-based. (Christopher Hitchens, who I also have a video on, in particular did extensive writing on her while making what feel like the most combative and uncharitable assumptions possible.) That being said, it is obviously so upsetting when someone who has a reputation for total selflessness like Mother Teresa is actually a deeply flawed person. The fact that some criticisms of her are unfair doesn’t make it okay that she let her workers reuse needles despite having the funds to purchase clean ones, or that she lent her name and reputation to dictators, or that she defended a priest who abused children. She helped very many people. And she still should have done better. #funny #motherteresa #india #kolkata #roast Works cited: Schultz, K. (2016, August 26).
