@washingtonpost: Stephen Lankenau has spent years studying how people use cannabis in everyday life. As director of Drexel University’s Medical Cannabis Research Center, he has watched legalization spread, products grow stronger and daily use become increasingly common. Yet one of the most basic questions remains surprisingly difficult to answer: How much cannabis is too much for the brain? Social rituals around alcohol help define moderation — a beer after work, a glass of wine with dinner — and numerous studies have looked at safe alcohol limits. But cannabis is entering mainstream life with few shared rules or routines. Researchers are trying to understand what problematic use looks like and whether new habits and cultural norms could help prevent it. The question is becoming more urgent as cannabis use rises, particularly among younger adults, who tend to use it most heavily and are the most likely to experiment with increasingly potent products. think about how different the plant is now lol. Corporate cannabis is more focused on money, they want mass production. The actual plant is not the problem

Such an important point about the lack of cultural frameworks With alcohol society has spent centuries building norms around what moderation looks like Because cannabis legalization happened so fast and product potency skyrocketed we are playing catch-up on what responsible long-term daily use actually looks like for health. 🧠🧠

Y’all should worry about the really harmful substances like prescription drugs and alcohol they have a far wider negative effect on society than pot

Funny how the government is what pushes for high THC percentages with its rules and regulations now you wanna turn around and say it’s a problem. We don’t WANT higher THC strains but it’s what the rules and regulations force on us

none of your business :
All this may be true and also as long as the world is on fire and meds are exorbitantly expensive, we can probably expect to see the use continue and potentially rise. Between weed and thinking about how my community is being systematically eradicated, I choose the numbness and high that comes w cannabis sometimes, ppl are jus trying to cope and survive
