I believe it was reported that it was an issue with amount of cost HBO was having to incur by a particular quarter of their year right around the time that they were about to be purchased. So they wanted to seem like they were still able to have all these assets like Game of Thrones franchise but not the direct cost from that season on their books are ready. That’s why we got a note of the seven kingdoms and House of the Dragon seasons this year at the same time.
