This appears to be a transabdominal ultrasound image of the urinary bladder. The bladder is filled with urine (black fluid), and there is a rounded soft-tissue protrusion projecting into the bladder lumen from the bladder base.
Possible interpretations include:
Enlarged median lobe of the prostate (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, BPH) protruding into the bladder (common in elderly men with dysuria).
Bladder tumor/mass (cannot be excluded from a single image).
Less commonly, a bladder polyp or other intravesical lesion.
Sample Ultrasound Report
Findings: Urinary bladder is moderately distended. A rounded soft-tissue echogenic lesion is seen projecting into the bladder lumen at the bladder base. The lesion appears contiguous with the prostate gland, suggesting intravesical prostatic protrusion. No obvious bladder calculus is seen on this image.
Impression:
Findings are suggestive of benign prostatic enlargement with intravesical prostatic protrusion (IPP).
Correlate with prostate volume, post-void residual urine, PSA level, and clinical findings.
Cystoscopic evaluation may be considered if a bladder mass is suspected.
