It’s interesting to me that because of my experience, I saw this as less of a criticism of tradwives or tradwife influencers, and more of a commentary on not only the way high-demand Christian culture treats and criticizes the women in that culture, but how society treats and views them as well. Obviously, I think there’s a lot to be said about the argument of tradwife influencers and whether they’re actually tradwives or not, but I feel like there’s been a lot of commentary on that already. I wanted to speak to this other view that I haven’t seen a lot of people take. And I would say that I do have a different definition of what a tradwife is. Because I think that if you hold the mentality that your husband is still the head of the household, if you’re having kids young, if you think that your worthiness as a person is based on having babies and having a picture-perfect life, whether you are making money off of that or not, and running a business, I would still classify you as a tradwife. Women perform as tradwives because they believe that that is the right and good way to live, whether they’re making money off of it or not. Are there people that make money by performing that without actually believing it? I don’t know. But I think if you’re performing it, you probably have a deeply held belief in those Christian tradwife ideals. Just my two cents, and I know a lot of people won’t agree with it, but I thought it was a very interesting read and very telling of my experience being raised in a high-demand religion. 🩵 #yesteryear #tradwife It’s interesting to me that because of my experience, I saw this as less of a criticism of wives or tradwife influencers, and more of a commentary on the way high-demand Christian culture treats and criticizes women.
