After living in Bangkok, these are the tips I’d give my friends before they visit: • Stay near a BTS or MRT station. This one decision can save you hours of commuting and hundreds of baht in transport costs. • Don’t book every activity in advance. Some of Bangkok’s best experiences are unplanned: finding a hidden café in Talad Noi, stumbling upon a local market, or watching sunset by the river. • Visit the temples early. The Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun are much more enjoyable before the tour buses and midday heat arrive. • Use river boats. Most visitors only use taxis and trains, but the Chao Phraya Express Boat is one of the cheapest and most scenic ways to see the city. • Bangkok is more than Sukhumvit. Explore Chinatown, Ari, Talad Noi, Old Town, and the riverside if you want to experience different sides of the city. • Need a break from the chaos? Head to Benjakitti Park or Lumphini Park around sunset. You’ll find runners, cyclists, outdoor fitness areas, and some of the best skyline views in the city. • Don’t underestimate travel times. Bangkok is huge. Two places can look close on a map and still take 45 minutes to reach. • The best rooftop isn’t always the most expensive one. Bangkok has dozens of rooftop bars and restaurants with incredible views. Try at least one sunset rooftop during your trip. • Malls here are attractions. Even if you hate shopping, places like ICONSIAM, CentralWorld, Siam Paragon, One Bangkok, and Emsphere are worth visiting for the food, architecture, and people-watching alone. • Carry a small umbrella. Not just for rain. The sun can be relentless, especially if you’re walking around temples or markets. • Leave room for spontaneity. Some of my favorite Bangkok memories came from places I wasn’t planning to visit. Bangkok isn’t a city that reveals itself in one day. The more you explore beyond the obvious tourist spots, the more you’ll understand why so many people come for a week and end up staying for years #Bangkok #BangkokTravel #VisitBangkok #ThailandTravel #bangkoklife
