@sticktocricket: "The best players from the Caribbean are going to the IPL." 😳 Do India hold too much power as a cricketing nation? 🇮🇳 💰 #botham #ipl #indiacricket #cricket #sticktocricket
So where was the international cricket wealth sharing before when say Australia and England were the richer two nations?

what do you even propose “sharing”? Let’s be specific. Are we saying Eden Gardens, Lord’s, and the MCG should start sharing their gate receipts with zimbabwe? How does this work?

Money talks at the end of the day, you wouldn’t have these podcasts and shows if it wasn’t for the investment being made, and people need a return for that

It is the same argument with the football premiership. Stopping the super league so that foreign teams don’t catch up on revenue. Double standards.

This isn't 'too much power'it's market reality. India generates 80-85% of cricket's revenue with its massive fanbase, so BCCI gets ~38.5% of ICC pie (still funding others). Players flock to IPL like Prem League or any big league. Call it commerce, not a problem needing forced 'sharing.' England/Aus ran things their way before, now India drives growth for all. Talent goes where the money and opportunity are, simple economics!

That is soo true, but England and Australia were always paid more than any country in and no one in cricket and the cricket board had a problem with that, so it should also be fair

IPL is shiiiiiiiite, test cricket is so much better.
I like I can't watch it all day over 3/5 days for 30 mins intervals.

The general attitude to sharing is a problem now, but that problem was also there before India entered the top table.
Cricket deserves a true supportive model of revenue to support the game worldwide. There's no point just watching 3 teams always playing each other.

why worry let them keep all the money they would end up playing by themself nobody else would be able to compete that's what they want right so if India has all the money and they want to keep it go ahead and keep it play cricket by yourself you have enough teams you can form in India and then you don't have to play any other country let them just play by themselves isn't that what they want that's where the game is heading anyway good luck to you guys with all the money and you can keep it and you can break all the records you want to break and be happy

Botham never complained about England having too much power before India overtook them did he? Typical of him considering his history.

Yeah it’s NOT 1980,90 when you dominate & tell everyone to fall in line. Now you stand in line also if you have so much problem that India have too much power in cricket then bring money to the table, bring fans, bring sponsors etc. you can’t so shut up 🤫

Thats not India's fault that they generate 70% of commercial revenue. Why should they share it?
