Early in my career , I got hired at an advertising agency as I was recommended by one of their former executives who I had done an internship with. the department I was hired into , had a female boss and I was the only male member of the team. my boss made it very clear very early that she didn't like the fact that a male had been hired into her team and she went out of her way to make me feel like the only male member on the team. my feelings aren't easily hurt so I just did a good job and made work friends, which seems to annoy her even more. the accounts team was split up in half with two associated account executives on each team, me on one and a female associate account executive on the other. the agency lost a large client from the team.I was not a part of but this gave my boss and excuse to "lay people off", so of course , she chose the only male on her team to get rid of. the irony is that this woman was caught a few months later having an affair with one of the male executives at the company, lost her job and was divorced by her husband. so can you tell me again how this is a one sided thing?
