Your credit score, interest rate, amount financed, down payment, loan term, trade-in, and even the vehicle you choose can all change the numbers. And pleaseeee don’t automatically assume that having less-than-perfect credit means you can’t get approved. Your options depend on your individual situation, and there can be more than one way to structure a deal. One of my biggest tips? Know your budget BEFORE you fall in love with the car. 😭 Because yes, we can talk about how to make the numbers work, but you should still feel comfortable with what you’re committing to every month. Also, don’t focus ONLY on the monthly payment. A lower payment can sometimes mean a longer loan term, which can mean paying more interest over time. And if you’re putting money down, understand WHY you’re putting that amount down and how it changes your financing. Most importantly: ASK QUESTIONS. You should never feel embarrassed to say, “Wait, can you explain that to me?” That’s literally what the process is for.
