This is why I’ve been putting it off. I just don’t think i can mentally handle recovery symptoms

I am 32, Total Hysterectomy 5 years ago. It took me over two years to finally feel like myself. no HRT due to clotting disorder. gabapentin has saved me from major hot flashes as well as mentally.

Hysterectomies take such a massive toll on the body. Both physically and mentally. I'm a transguy and had one nearly 7 years ago. So much changed after and it was a real struggle because so few people talk about the recovery and changes after.

I don't want to bum you out, but it took me about 6 months to fully feel like myself. I was fatigued through most of the 6 months post surgery. It's a major thing for your body to go through 💗

I don’t want to get you down, but it took me a year to feel normal after mine. At the 1 year point I started taking Vitamin D and Magnesium and finally feel great. It’s a slow process. Don’t get discouraged

It gets better! Im 6 months out and feeling more myself. I also had my ovaries removed and went into menopause at 40. It wasn’t great. But I started acupuncture and it really helped the first few months.

This is exactly why I asked for HRT immediately afterwards. My ovaries have been through it and need some help getting this girl back on track.
