@holymorridge: This is obv v diff from my normal content lol but I honestly never thought I’d be ‘strong’ enough to actually be able to handle being pregnant - I thought my anxiety/audhd/emetephobia would mean I just couldn’t do it - and would have killed to have seen someone like me say actually they were also sh!t scared, but they could handle it. So thought I’d share snippets with u if it’s helpful/interesting ?? I have found the process v anxiety inducing and have struggled in ways mentally, but feel I can get through it, and haven’t written off that I’d do this again - so it’s been hard but not truly unmanageable if that makes sense. If you have any questions pls lmk and I’ll answer as best I can !! For context I’m now in the third trimester xx
thanks for your first point bc I'm terrified it's gonna trigger my claustrophobia

I don’t really talk much about pregnancy cos I’m scared of having 37937483 ppl’s opinions & also really do wanna still be ME and I’m so pleased I can be on here. Hope you know I’m obv very grateful to be in this position and do not take it for granted but also feel like it’s just a part of me rather than being all of me. I love coming on here and just being Holly not being ‘mum/mum-to-be’ vibes. Cos entertainment is 1000% my baby too. OK DISCLAIMERS OVER

I have RAGING health anxiety and was terrified of this worsening in pregnancy. 18 weeks and I’m honestly the calmest I’ve ever felt in my life. It creeps in at times but I too can handle it!

would absolutely love to hear about how you handle being pregnant with emetophobia. I’m so scared of the sickness that I feel like I could never actually be brave enough to get pregnant 😭💖

i think I'm scared that my body wouldn't really be my own anymore, you know? That it's changing in unavoidable ways and I would feel quite alien? so if you could speak about that at all?

I have emetophobia too and it’s the thing that puts me off having kids in general but pregnancy too. How did you manage the anxiety around that and have you dealt with morning sickness?

This is sooo true I always felt like having a bump would freak me out but it’s so gradual you don’t even notice ???? But even the movements you think one day you’re going to feel a massive kick and it isn’t like that at all. The movements build up so you’re not shocked / overwhelmed by them 🤔 and now I can’t even remember being pregnant or having a bump and I’ve been pregnant for 18 months of my life xx

I’m late diagnosed autistic and getting pregnant was such a major worry for me. How would I cope sensory wise, what if I changed my mind and it’s too late, how would I cope with all the hormones and my mental health? I’m now sitting here looking at my 10 week old sleeping and it is the most magical experience ever! And I absolutely loved being pregnant, I put it off for so long and it was amazing!!

I always thought pregnancy and having a baby was a big serious thing. But it isn't. None of it feels serious, it all actually feels rather silly and weird 🤣 my girls nearly 9 months and it still isn't that deep

how did you feel about making the decision re: pregnancy/getting pregnant? it feels like a huge decision. my partner and I (both 32) have just started this journey after LOTS of discussion - we still feel so young and out of our depth but also really want a family...
