I tried washing the hair, it does not work. I get horrible rashes on my neck when I put that stuff in my hair. It’s not worth it.

I’m currently wearing crochet passion twist for the first time and I thought something was wrong with me because of the itchy. Now seeing these comments, I realise that I’m not the problem. I itched so bad I almost pulled them out the same night.

Crochet hair is also super itchy, I had some perms in my hair when I was little and I would never go back to that shit. I’m a mini twist warrior now

Half wigs, n glueless wigs are my go to fr. I reuse it till they fall off the bone 😭.but for natural styles are flat twist/cornrows with my curls out. I have low density hair so I use a few clip ins

I have been seeing yarn (yes the knitting yarn) for braid hair. Do it a particular way & it looks like dreadlocks.

I tried crochet style and lasted about 10 minutes. It itched, and felt so heavy on my scalp. And it looks weird without all the stuff people do to make it work.

So I wear crochet hair a lot and it is pretty hot but I’ve start experimenting with new methods, cuts and ways to style :) wen it’s hot I take a a small piece of cloth and crochet it in the front to catch the sweat

Omg thank you for your truth!!! ♥️♥️♥️I’m still on braids six years after leaving the creamy crack during the pandemic, but I need to take my braids out every 4 to 5 weeks or it will pull out the baby hairs and the edges

I hear your exasperation 😂 I feel your pain. I’m very lazy so a half wig is always my go to that matches my hair texture for the most part

I’ve been natural since 2008. I wash weekly and used to do twist outs. 2020 stopped using oils and butters because of advice from cosmetologists. I learned how to do wash n go and that’s all I do now. When need a hair cut I’ll have them do twist or a wash n go. My scalp is so healthy now

I started using "distilled" water in my spray bottles and got a filter for my shower to help filter the hard water in my area...A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE.

Just an FYI- go back to the single box braids with knots so they last for summer! You can still co wash and maintain your scalp easy. Plot twist, do a 2 strand twist on your hair first so there is less tension or breakage on natural hair. And it makes take down so easy as well!! You’re welcome!!
