you are wrong my brother. carrying your documents doesn't help the police at all but it helps you in case something unusual happens e.g let's say in case of accident and everyone dies in the car 🚗 then how can you be identified? Even locals carrying you identification documents is encouraged. Carrying documents has nothing to do with your nationality but it firstly help you. Just like a safety belt it doesn't help the police.

They regularly checked my ID, passport, vaccination card when I was working in Mosambiek and Zimbabwe. Nothing wrong with that. They just checking for security perposes. Don't feel offended
