we pulled up souch stuff at the rock pit where I work-ish at. 30ft logs, it was a whole petrified forest! there was pyrite, calcite, quartz, druzy quartz on petrified wood, calcite on wood, fossils....concretions.....so much stuff!!!

Take a glass bottle or a little piece of it that broke off and tap it on the tree. If it sounds like glass it’s petrified, if not it’s not
