You start and wait for the revs to drop. Once they drop you’re good to go. It’s not about warming the engine - it’s about coating the pistons so they’re lubricated well. So 15 seconds or so if usually enough for this.

im sorry lady but when you let ur car idle to warm up its usually to get the oil flowing and to get the temp up a bit not get to full operating temps

fine on standard engines but not for high performance engines (Porsche Ferrari ect) many have dry sumps so need to have the oil to circulate before moving off,
