@tanaamen: For years, I went undiagnosed because I didn't fit the "typical" image of PCOS. I wasn't overweight. I didn't have ovarian cysts. So no one looked deeper. Meanwhile, I had no periods, struggled with infertility, had elevated testosterone, high cholesterol, borderline insulin resistance, and eventually developed acne when I came off birth control. In fact, 20-30% of women with PCOS are considered normal weight, and many still have insulin resistance, elevated testosterone, fertility challenges, and increased long-term metabolic risk. And for many women, birth control can mask symptoms for years, delaying diagnosis until they stop taking it. That's one reason the name is shifting from PCOS to PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome) because this isn't just about ovaries. It's about hormones, metabolism, and overall health. If you're experiencing any of these symptoms, don't ignore them: • Irregular or missing periods
• Infertility
• Facial hair or acne
• Elevated testosterone
• Insulin resistance
• Unexplained high cholesterol If you've ever felt dismissed because you didn't fit the "typical" picture, please don't ignore your symptoms. Has anyone else experienced this? #PCOS #PMOS #HormoneHealth #WomensHealth #HealthyAging
