Just be sure to spray the baskets about once a week with hypochlorous acid! I did this and the smell from some older shoes sunk into the basket since it’s porous and the baskets started to smell like dirty shoes. But spraying helps a lot

For shoes waiting to go back upstairs, cause let’s be real, sometimes we just don’t feel like taking things upstairs immediately, might I recommend “crap baskets” on the stairs. Everyone gets a basket for their crap that they have to empty each day. This might mitigate any leftover shoes that don’t fit the new space but don’t make it up the stairs right away. Plus they’re super handy
