Vacation is maintenance calorie time. I'm not going to go crazy, but I'm eating what I want on my week-long vacation and at the state fair, lmao. 💪

Whew! Summer has been BRUTAL for my weight loss journey. There’s just so much- parties, entertaining kids and outings, vacays, ice cream runs (which I don’t even get for myself often), out of town guests, etc. Think I’m gonna have to adopt maintenance summer and deficit fall/winter/spring. 🤪. It’s a lifestyle, not a diet- right 😂🤷♀️💀🤦♀️. Thanksgiving and Christmas time have NOTHING on summer.

I just got back from a 10 day camping trip through Yellowstone. I was so worried about gaining weight. But I did what you suggested. I lived my best life… So many huckleberry margaritas. But I did walk at least 5 miles a day. And I stayed on track with protein and vegetables for breakfast. When I got back, I’d only gained 1 pound which I considered a win. I’m back on track with my goals and I’m sure that pound will be gone within a week.

Had my first holiday last week and for the first time came back the same weight! I didn’t track and did have treats but must have stayed at maintenance, I still did my steps too. Very happy, every other time I’ve gained

I'm at maintenance but even that feels tiring sometimes and I just want to eat whatever I want for one day without tracking anything, would it be too bad?

I so needed this today! We go to the beach in 3 weeks and I’ve already been trying to plan bringing my scale and what healthy snacks I can pack and how to plan my meals but this made me feel so much better🥰🥰

I just follow my body. When I’m getting full, I just stop eating. I just don’t want to over eat. But just have fun 😊

I will say that I take a lot of trips and most of the time the scale spike disappears within a week BUT twice I have gone on trips, NOT GONE CRAZY, didn’t track but for sure did not go off the rails. Scale spiked up 4-5 pounds and stuck around for WEEKS!! Had to do a mini cut after. But just those two trips and I cannot figure out why???

Luckily the person you stitched is going to Italy. Italy is a very walkable country as long as there are no mobility difficulties. You walk and train everywhere. If you’re in the south go and set a goal of walking up mount vesuvius or walk around Pompei or Herculaneum. If you’re in the north have a shopping day where you walk a lot around different shops/ shopping centres or go visit the colosseum or the pantheon, have a church tour where you walk to each church, look around and into the next one, the leaning tower of pisa etc. as long as you want to do a lot of sight seeing your step count will be MUCH higher than it would be back home. When I visited family in Naples one day I walked up Vesuvius and toured Herculaneum, the second day I toured Pompei, another day I walked the entire stretch of the harbour area from the garibaldi train station up to castel dell’ovo and then back after going inside. Another day i got a boat to ischia and walked all around that island and then relaxed at a beach. My step count each day was EASILY 20-25k+.
