I have 96 hours, ppl, night rating a year later and I still cant find funding, unfortunately it’s really really rare and hard to get funding.

Eish. Funding is a problem. You get your basic diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. You need money to finance your CAA tests and Airport Permits. Then you need to finance your type rating courses. If you’re in General Aviation it is even worse. Not to mention specialization like NDT & sheet metal licensing also cost money and if you have no military background it is 10 times harder to get the licenses. Same thing pilot side. You’re paying half a million for a PPL. You need 1 million for a CPL. You still have to get the hours and then once you get them you need an ATPL to get a decent salary. Type ratings are also an issue as is the case in maintenance. I don’t even want to know how hard it is for Air Traffic Controllers and Flight Dispatchers.

Lowest level of aviation is expensive and niched. Like I don’t want to fly plane. Just drones. Why is the commercial licence 500k😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Exactly what I’m going through right now. I’m going pillar to post looking for funding for my training and boy, for now I’m not getting anything but I’m not giving up. I’m definitely gonna be an airline pilot 👩🏽✈️

Funding is a major obstacle. While we may have a pool of talent governments hesitate funding to control labour supply and demand patterns. But just to make life more flexible - i second your thoughts.
