"leave something like that Open around a pet" you say it was accidental and then say he just left it open, he wasn't being irresponsible if it was an accident. also most pets especially cats don't just eat random things, they are incredibly picky eaters. And I just don't agree with the nursing home take.

Except those pills were his grandmothers pills… so it would have been her who didn’t put the lid back on… thus it was his grandmother that started all of this! No one seems to realize that it was the grandmother reaching from beyond the grave

we have no idea of what happened with his grandmother, other than at one point he was looking up nursing homes, she passed ima guess recently due to the search history as the search states nursing homes in June, and judging by the dates in the search history that was possibly 3-4 months ago as why would you look up nursing homes after someone has passed, and she was prescribed oxycodone

I think it’s also heavily implied (or maybe I missed it) that he’s taking/using his grandma’s drugs. To what extent I’m unsure, but to your point the bottle wasn’t closed properly, the medicine cabinet was still FULL of prescriptions (weird thing to hold onto) and he mentions having sleeping pills on him when meeting with Sarah.
