Just in case anyone doesnt know, antibiotics make the pill not work. I got lyme disease 18 years ago so now I have a kid about to go to college.

I appreciate that no one is fear mongering about hormonal birth control here. I got sterilized surgically and some people seem to think it's because I hated being on BC. I just wanted the method I needed to think about the least.

Vomiting, diarrhea, and several medications can make them ineffective.

If I do take it religiously on time, is it still safe to use as a sole method of bc?

If your meant to take them at 10 and sometimes you take them at 9 or 11 but most commonly you take them at 10 does that mess it up

I read that also if you have diarrhea or puke within first few hours while it hasn't yet been absorbed it also counts as a missed pill

I take mine within an hour everyday! But I’m on the mini pill so the window is shorter

Never took birth control. So thankful for that decision. Not a single thing about it sounded appealing. Yes even to help with bad periods. Not flooding my body with chemicals and hormones for anything.

As an anxious person, I absolutely took it on time perfectly for 10 years. But they aren’t 100% even with perfect use.

This is exactly why I am not on the pill. I also get BAD headaches when I used to miss it by even an hour. Nuvaring is AMAZING but I had a very rare side effect and had to switch to the patch and it’s also pretty amazing. There is non everyday options that don’t involve pain 🙂↕️
