@krish.kara: The government just put a 22% tax inside your "tax-free" ISA. But there's a LOOPHOLE 🔀 From April 2027, HMRC will tax interest on cash sitting in your Stocks & Shares ISA at 22%. They've decided Money Market Funds (MMFs) count as cash too, so those get hit as well. Here's the gap they left open: HMRC admitted that banning MMFs entirely would be too restrictive, forcing people into higher-risk products just to avoid the tax. So if you hold just a tiny slice in stocks or bonds, and 99% in MMFs, you sidestep the charge. MMFs aren't risk-free. They can fall in value and don't enjoy full FSCS protection. As always, do your own research, this isn't financial advice. Comment "ISA" and I'll break down this loophole in full. #PersonalFinance #uktax #investing #isa #moneymanagement
I mean I don’t really understand the issue with this? Lots of providers don’t give you interest on uninvested cash in a S&S ISA, granted some do… but if your money is in S&S ISA highly unlikely it’s in cash, and if it’s in cash it’s only for a short period of time usually right? If you’re going to hold it in cash stick it in a cash ISA? Or what am I missing?
