TLDR: Woman caused gridlock in car park which held up 100+ other people, several other cars attempted to park and she sat on bumpers and had yelling fits. I moved car into space at <1km/h she then hurled verbal abuse. Car not damaged, and I moved out of the space once the car she was saving the space for moved on. All in all we’re both idiots and no-one was physically hurt. Some context for all: This was on boxing day (a public holiday here in Australia, after Christmas), parking is ALWAYS a battle on Boxing Day and I had done countless laps looking for a free parking space, I wasn’t in a rush, I knew what I was getting into and had zero intentions of being the guy I was in the short clip shared. What’s not shown in the clip is the 20 minute gridlock that this woman caused by blocking other people from parking in that space, which in turn blocked other people from exiting their spaces. Another driver attempted to park in the space she she sat on the hood/bump of that car, that driver a brief verbal altercation and drove on, fair enough, however other vehicles attempt to park there and she continues to disallow the flow of traffic. I’ve rolled down my window and politely asked her to move on by this point and she doesn’t I indicate with my indicator, the white hatchback lets me across and I come off the accelerator and start applying the break as I come into the space. She decides the best course of action instead of moving away from a 2 tonne 4x4 which is sounding its horn to let pedestrians and other motorists know of a hazard is to grab the bullbar (brush bar to you yanks) and remain in front of the vehicle. This cleared up traffic and allowed countless other parking space users to park and exit the parking facility. I then hopped out of the vehicle and locked it, and had a verbal argument about the inconvenience and just darn right entitlement she thought she was entitled to. About 15 minutes later (which would of probably been an hour or more had she continued to “save” the space) the car she was attempting to hold the space for showed up and a further verbal dispute occurred. Long story short they drove away, my vehicle wasn’t damaged (not that I care too much about that, it’s a 4x4 that actually goes off road, it’s got some beauty marks). I moved my car not long after and allowed someone else to score the spot and spent another ten minutes finding a free space. And to those who say I’m an idiot, you are 100% right, that situation could’ve been a lot worse, and to that I say don’t try to hold a space and I won’t take it from you because you’re causing way more issues than you think, if you want guaranteed parking go to the valet, if not duke it out like the rest of us. #australia #dashcam #fyp #roadrage #viral
