They are an idyllic fantasy of a relationship that transcends traditional norms and expectations. Which is why I’ll forever be mad that people feel the story is somehow lesser because they aren’t “canon”. These two are soulmates and everything about their bond would be cheapened by a traditional “lovers” story, at least at this point.
