I swear, Star Trek, Buffy, and SG1 are the origin of pretty much every modern fanfic trope ever ๐ I actually wrote a paper in university on the influence of Star Trek in popular culture, and an argument could be made it is the single most influential piece of modern media ever written. (Excluding religious texts)
