Me being extremely emotional might come as extremely corny, but I needed to let some things out my chest. It all started back then at the beginning of March, 2024, when I wanted to start the game I’ve known about since 2023 but I felt like I didn’t have the mental capacity for it, despite seeing Blade and DHIL and finding them really cool. So, after seeing Sparkle in 2024, I told myself I will start the game, which led to me not managing to get Sparkle and instead I got Acheron, my first limited 5* in this game. But surely enough, even after getting the anniversary unit and her weapon, I still felt empty and the game felt boring, since I was just used to Genshin open world mechanics and how much freedom you have in combat, that when I found out HSR is turn based, I was honestly caught off guard and taken aback. And so, even with this, at that time, broken unit Acheron, the game grew boring to me quite quickly. That was, until the 13th of March came, and that’s when I saw Boothill’s drip marketing. It was an immediate love at first sight, as he holds all feats I love in a character, from his absolutely stunning and cool design, to his personality and everything in between. I told myself just from his drip marketing that this is my main from now on and no one else will replace him. And it so happened. I came back to the game after his drip marketing and from being extremely depressed, lazy and down to play, I managed to gather 250 pulls as a new player in the spam of 3 to 4 weeks just for him. His trailer came out 24th of May, 2024 on my prom day and it didn’t take me long to memorise all of his lines in the trailer by heart, judging by the amount of times I’ve seen the trailer. I’m pretty sure at least 30% of the views on his trailer are just from me alone, that’s how much I adore him. I cried when I read his backstory, I saw myself in this character and knew he is the one. By the time he came on the 29th of May, 2024, I was guaranteed and got him on my first ten pull, 15 pity. His weapon was also a win and at the time of 2.2, I had nothing appropriate for him as units, but I didn’t care, because what was most important was that he came home and I had the chance to play with him. I managed to get him on his release all the way to e3s1 as an f2p, broke my f2p for the first time when I wanted to pull e4, and got Gepard instead, which meant my Ruan Mei was guaranteed and that made me stop pulling. I managed to get e3s1 Ruan Mei for him as well, and thus his journey of proper growth had started. I was using him with Ruan Mei, Bronya and Gallagher for a very long time, I remember when I hit my first milion with him on the Herta station blue bug and the amount of tears I cried on that day. I then started saving for his e6s5, as I promised myself I will max him out and played every single day. His first rerun came in 3.0, I e6s5ed him, then waited for a Fugue rerun, since I skipped her for him, and managed to get her all the way to e4s1 for him. That’s when I also promised myself since he was maxed out, that one day I will reach 20m as a number of damage with him, no matter when that day will be. In 3.4, my account got hacked and I was unable to grind to fix his build or play for more than 7 months. EXACTLY on my birthday, 14th of Feb, 2026, I got my account back by a miracle, and once again, I don’t think it was a coincidence, because this could have happened on the 13th of feb, or even on the 15th. It had to be exactly on my birthday Hoyoverse texted me after I waited so long for a reply to help get my account back. And so, after getting Dahlia to e4s1 for him, this is where we are. We reached that point where I can pour out all that I keep in my heart for this one character. There is no boss in the main story, no matter how shill or hard, that I haven’t defeated with him and him only. I grew this account and did everything with this character.
