Since morning, I have received several complaints from residents alleging that when they called the on the numbers available on the ECI website, they were allegedly asked to visit branch offices or meet local for voter enrolment. If true, this is a blatant violation of Election Commission of India guidelines. I warn all Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant EROs, Supervisors and BLOs that voter verification must be carried out strictly through (door-to-door) visits. No should function from the office or residence of any political party or political leader. A Booth Level Agent (BLA) appointed by any political party can only accompany or assist a BLO. A BLA cannot independently collect forms, verify documents or upload voter data. Any such violation should attract strict disciplinary and criminal action. has started monitoring the SIR process. Today, along with leaders, I visited several areas of Yakutpura, Chandrayangutta and Malakpet Assembly Constituencies to assess the ground situation. If any official is found enrolling fake or bogus voters or violating ECI rules, MBT will submit call recordings, video evidence and documentary proof to the Election Commission of India and demand immediate suspension, criminal prosecution and arrest of those responsible. Every genuine voter must be protected. The integrity of the electoral roll is the foundation of free and fair elections.
