Volunteer with your kids things. My village is a ton of cub and Girl Scout moms and dads. I move in a few weeks. The number of parents I have offered to help me move makes me cry with joy.

Yes! This was our story—4 kids, put them all in swim and we created carpools and cheered for all of each others’ kids and now, my kids have all these aunties and uncles who are safe people to talk to, we got to know a whole bunch of incredible kids, and some of these parents are my closest friends. We built a community by being helpful and accepting help and now we’re bonded for life

Create a neighborhood group chat. Ours rarely goes off but when it does, it’s hey who wants to go in the backyard and have a barbecue on Thursday or hey my kid just outgrew all of this stuff who needs it it has organized meal trains for babies births helped out when somebody was selling their home when one neighbor is doing a large garbage pick up it invites others to bring their large garbage to their house because one of us is already paying the fee.

Some poeple say the cost of community is inconvenience. You have to be there for others and sometimes be out of your comfortzone in order to have a village.

I’ve watched moms build villages at my storytimes at the library and it’s my favorite. Some of them now hang out outside of the library and go to the park or help each other in other ways. It’s so sweet to watch these moms become friends while the kids play.

I put myself out there and then feel like a weirdo anyway and then it's always me trying, me doing the conversations and no one understanding what I'm talking about then I get depressed and hide away. Then because we're military we move away and I have to do it again.

I’m literally a 22 year old college grad - I have no real connection to your content besides being super interested in it lol, but your hair and skin always looks so good and love hearing your tips bc honestly some of the organizational ones have helped me and this too in my own way to put myself out there in a new chapter of my life!
