i used to get big black smudges under my eyes from wearing waterproof mascara just on my top lashes. someone tipped me to buy a clear mascara (i use the one from clarins) to put on top of my mascara so the oil on my face won't get in a create the smudge. now i get very little smudge even when i put mascara on my bottom lashes too

when I smile, I smile with my whole face so that means the highpoint of my cheeks meet my lashes. I think my mascara is breaking down/smudging as my lashes touch the foundation on my skin. so im assuming I'd need to really make sure to powder that skin around the eyes?
