I live in Omaha and love it here! Spots to visit: the zoo, Lauritzen gardens, lots of lakes to walk around with your dog (Zorinsky, Cunningham, Chalco, Flanagan), Gretna outlets, Fontenelle Forest, Bob Kerry Bridge. Areas with cool vibes: Blackstone, Dundee, Downtown Omaha, Downtown Elkhorn, Downtown Ashland. Random great Omaha restaurants: there are SO many.. Runza, Big Fred’s, Memoir, Clio, Pitch, Dairy Chef, etc! Enjoy our city! 💛

Dog bar. Wander around Old market (food, shops, drinks, fun). Aksarben farmers market on Sundays. Sonny's in aksarben for cocktails/ summer nights. For fun Lauritzen gardens, THE ZOO (late nights at the zoo for 21+), the luminarium, benson bars, husker game days in Lincoln, creighton basketball games. For the love of god...Get a steak at The Drover.

Omaha is great! Just because it's Nebraska don't diss it. I saw in the comments you love cheese burgers, Dinkers is a cash only bar and grill with great burgers. what hospital is your fiance going to be working at? I've worked at some (as a nurse) and may be able to give some insights.

Favorite restaurants are Block 16, Memoir, Tupelo Honey, Nosh, Dirty Birds (all downtown). For venturing further out I love Circo on 192nd and Q. Breakfast places-Early bird is a chain but it’s good, Good Lookin has a dundee or west location. A lot of other people said where to go for fun things but it truly is an awesome city. Check out the old market, the riverfront area, Gene Leahy mall.
