I had a friend who was making Jestr videos and wasn’t marking them. I said something to him and he claimed Jestr said they didn’t have to. Now suddenly after all this went down now the videos are labeled as sponsored

It does make me chuckle a little bit that we see this happen all the time with creators and yet people will still sit there and genuinely say they find creators more trustworthy than journalists.

I didn’t know you actually have go disclose it as ads, I personally think jestr is quite cool for smaller creators plus not just that but the fact that I actually did find super cool games on there, never thought it would become controversial xd

I didn't realize there was a way like that to get paid for cozy games so easy. I just liked finding new games and just bought copies myself because I wanted to support the devs. 😵💫😂

I would say I’m surprised but I’m not :/ I’ve heard of jestr but never looked into it. Not just happening with the smaller creators though, I’ve seen a lot of big name YouTubers not announce it’s a sponsored video/short etc.

“Showcase” content like this is, by and large, made by people advertising the game. Small creators can get a free game key to make a video on the game. I don’t think it’s a malicious thing, but yeah rules is rules. There’s several sites other than Jestr, like keymailer etc this has been a thing for a long time.
