I’ve been slowly watching seasons 1-40 and am about to start Second Chances. Without giving too much away, how do you define the eras you split them up into?

I really think you need to take into consideration historical drops in tv viewership as a whole (totally agree with your point about Jeff not caring about the audience but I just don’t think you can compare 1 to 1 like this)

You can’t really compare even 20 onwards, network viewership is down over 30% excluding streaming since then. Survivor has consistently won the demos every time slot it’s been on which is why they even increased to 90 min episodes vs giving that time to a crappy new CBS drama. The demos are the only thing that matters to CBS because demo wins = happy advertisers. Pretty sure Survivor is still a really great cash cow to CBS.
