@aurorahunting: August Auroras can also be seen in summer in Lapland, but only when it gets dark in August. First aurora nights are very short, but darkness comes back fast. September September has better weather & Equinox Effect allowing for more auroras. Nights are still very warm and during the day we can see wonderful autumn foliage. October October also has the Equinox Effect, and has lots of darkness already. The rivers and lakes are still open allowing to capture aurora reflections in the water. November Winter settles in and it snows a lot - making it challenging to find clear skies. Nights get colder & longer. December The Polar night begins in Lapland and days are very short. The real winter is here, and Christmas season is on in Lapland. January The coldest month in Lapland with temperatures often below -30C! Lots of aurora to hunt, if you’re ready to drive a lot. February Polar night ends & there is more sunshine. Also a good month for snow activities and to see the snowy “popcorn” trees. March Equinox effect returns again to help with activity. Good weather provides easier nights, but the nights are getting shorter. April Last month to see the auroras before summer. Nights are very short but there is a chance until ≈20-25 April Summer There is no night in Lapland from May until early August! The Midnight Sun is magical, but absolutely wrong time to visit Lapland for auroras. Aurora tour Hope to see you in Rovaniemi Lapland! Check tour details at aurorahunting.fi!
