See this is how I would want to right a college essay. Just being myself, I hate fluff, I hate feeling like I have to present myself as better or fit into a box of what’s acceptable. But it’s scary taking the chance that the person reading my essay would want something so "quirky" so I stick to cookie cutter prompts and sound like everyone els. Same thing for job applications.

"My childhood best friend was the monster under my bed" as i described The Very Hungry Caterpillar as my imaginary best friend as a kid and its "hunger" was my creativity that i lost as the years went on and i went to a science high-school. only to see "the caterpillar" again when someone i looked up to said my poems were awesome!!!! had a reoccurring theme of "being hungry" with my last line being "And I was still hungry."
