Post 28 | SERIES 3: THE TRUTH NO ONE SELLS 🇬🇭➡️🇬🇧 Real stories from a Ghanaian in the UK the relocation nobody prepares you for. PART 2 - THE AIRPORT PHOTO The photo was perfect. New country. Big smile. Caption full of gratitude and excitement. People commented. People shared. People said you are living your dream. And I posted it and I put the phone down and I sat in a room I didn't know yet. In a city that didn't know me, and I cried. Not because I regretted coming. But because nobody tells you about the gap between the arrival and the settling. That first week is strange in a way that's hard to explain. Everything is new. Everything is unfamiliar. The bed feels different. The light feels different. Even the silence sounds different. And everyone back home thinks you've already arrived into your new life. But you're still standing at the door trying to figure out how to open it. Social media shows the highlight. It doesn't show the three-day exhaustion after the adrenaline wears off. It doesn't show the 2am moments when you question everything. It doesn't show the version of you sitting on the floor eating something you didn't recognise from a shop you couldn't navigate properly yet. That version is real too. And if that was you, you don't have to pretend it wasn't. The highlight and the hard truth can both exist. You are not failing. You are adjusting. And adjusting takes longer than a caption. What did the first week actually feel like for you? Follow @thecelestialjanet and come back tomorrow for the next part. Every follow, comment, save and share puts this in front of someone who needs it. You could be the reason the right person sees this. 🇬🇭➡️🇬🇧 #thecelestialjanet #GhanaToUK #RelocationTruths #TheTruthNoOneSells #MigrationStories
