@lamclinic: On a statin and feeling wiped out, achy, or foggy? There may be a piece of the puzzle worth knowing about. 🔋 Statins work by blocking a pathway that makes cholesterol — but that same pathway also produces CoQ10, the molecule your cells use to make energy. Your heart, muscles, and brain all rely on it. So when statins lower your cholesterol, they can lower your CoQ10 too. For some people, that may play a role in the fatigue, muscle aches, or brain fog that can come with statin therapy. The research on whether CoQ10 supplements fix those symptoms is genuinely mixed — but CoQ10 is low-risk, available over the counter, and worth a conversation with your provider. A few important notes: • Don’t stop your statin on your own — it’s protecting your heart. • If you’re having muscle symptoms, tell your doctor. They deserve a real evaluation, not a brush-off. • CoQ10 isn’t guaranteed to help everyone, but it’s a reasonable, safe option to discuss. At Lam Clinic, we look at the whole picture — your medications, your energy, and the root cause — so you’re not left wondering why you feel off. #CoQ10 #Statins #HeartHealth #FunctionalMedicine #Cholesterol RootCauseMedicine Energy Longevity LamClinic TustinCA OrangeCounty

There is very limited research that you need Coq10 if on a statin. Plain and simple.

The research showing benefits from CoQ10 supplementation with statins is inconclusive at best.

i did complained to one kkm doctor about muscle pains but i was told that my cholesterol was too high and continued to prescribe higher dose, so i made up a mind to ask for second opinion from a private clinic doctor and was advised to change medication at a lower dose only then i felt less muscle aches

There is currently no evidence that CoQ10 is beneficial for fatigue caused by statins.
