@tthequeenmikayla: I've always been intrigued by this video, wondering where and when it was made and for what occasion as well. My favorite part of this video isn't just the beauty of the young Efik men, who look to be in their mid-to-late twenties and early thirties, but also the "Ayooooo!" of the older Efik women. It sounds nothing like what we do today. 😀 There's something so pure, authentic, and beautiful about it. Listening to it feels like stepping back in time and experiencing a piece of our culture exactly as it once was. credit @onoyom @EHF @Eyen_calabar_ @🌿 BÍG SÁM ÓF ÇÀLÁBÂR 🌿 @KEH 🌹 @The Efik Class @EFIK ONLINE TV& PODCAST @Efik-Eburutu_Cultural_Heritage @star_entertainment__ #efikpoeple #crossriverstate #arochukwu #camerountiktok🇨🇲 #ghanatiktok🇬🇭
When I was in secondary school, I did a research and essay competition tracing the roots of Annang and Efik tribe from the Tower of Babel. I discovered our forefathers first settled in Ghana, then Cameroun then the present day Nigeria. Some of our Efik and Annang siblings settled in Ghana, Egypt and Cameroun. We still share language, similar names and culture.

I believe this musica group were invited to perform at an event in Ghana. I also understand that some tribes like the Ga migrated from Nigeria. I'm from Efik/Ibibio tribe. in Kenya I was shocked to know a classmates with the name Eno wasn't my sister but from Ghana. Similar names include,
Eno
Edem
Essien
Akan
Kofi
etc
