@kkderobst: Can you tell I am not a watercolor lover? #iridescent #watercolor #paint #guide #mediums #painting #satisfying #gumarabic #testing #brush #paper #shiny #pearlescent #blue
You mean to tell me, I’ve been using watercolor for 13 years, and no one, and I do mean no one, has told me I can just ADD the glitter myself????? I can change the texture?????? Fuck masking fluid tho, been there hated that. BUT GLITTER????

listen.... the hash brown of doom WILL help remove the masking fluid (its called a rubber cement pick up square)
Whatever you do. Do NOT get a whiff of the masking fluid.

Oxgall is a flow medium for wet in wet technique, not to “make it wetter”

so the way i learned how to use masking fluid in art school was take the brush, dip it in liquid hand soap first, THEN dip it in the masking fluid. That way the brush stays smooth especially if you wash it right away. You could probably do the same now with liquid latex

The best option I’ve found for applying masking fluid is small silicone “brushes” used for detail work on clay! You don’t have to sacrifice a regular brush or deal with syringe clogs and when the glue starts to dry, you just wipe it off easily on a paper towel! 😊

You can also MAKE water colour with mica and gum Arabic and it turns metallic

I rather enjoy using ox gall. You add it to your water cup and it makes the paints behave

What brand iridescent medium do you use? The one I bought is very thick and it kind of ruins the painting.

Ox goal is for paints that don’t already have it in. As well for more flow on wet on wet technique. That’s why that’s not flowing like you want in your swatch.
