I think about this on the daily, how would I pay for a funeral if someone in my family died. like do we start paying for our funeral the day we're born??

None of this is sustainable. I’m just scared to see what the fix is.

I work in municipal government and the cost of cemetery rights and perpetual care alone is insane! But add a funeral on too? EASY 10-15k MINIMUM and the cost keeps going up because cemeterys do eventually fill up 😀

I'm fine being cremated and having my ashes being fertilizer on a tree named after me. Make it easier on my kids.

My grandma died unexpectedly in November and her husband didn’t know what he was gonna do. Thank God her sister paid for her cremation.

You are so right! My husband was out of work.but all my siblings don’t have a lot of income and I paid for my moms cremation which one place quoted me $3k!!!! I went somewhere else but that still cost $1k here where I live.

I know people are living pay to pay check. But you really need to put something aside. For me. I do not want to be cremated. And I know that’s going to cost money for the casket. The services. It sucks. But no way I want to burden my family after death.

I’m planing to get my own damn funeral packet. Get the casket and funeral service already paid for and my cremation as well. It’s about $20,000 but I rather pay for it now than worry about it later on.

What happens to a dead person if no one living can afford to do anything with them? Does the state bury you?
